Justin Berkovi

It took only a few ground breaking EPs back in the day along with a debut album on Force Inc. to cement Berkovi’s name in the techno history books. He went on to produce some five solo albums and countless 12” EPs and remixes and has played alongside techno’s brightest stars such as Sven Vath, Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, James Ruskin, and many many more.

Mihalis Safras

Really not much to say for that.. artist from Greece Greek DJ/producer & label manager, Mihalis Safras, is the mastermind behind the Material Series label pool. He is considered to be one of the most high-profiled artists and currently the most productive techno producer on the planet. (DJ Mag245)

The muscial direction of Goldfish & Der Dulz was clear from the beginning: a minimalistic, funky electro music with a subtly woven melody.

Label::Booking::Mastering

As Spielstaub was founded in early 2010 the only intention was to publish its own music. But from the close collaboration with their artists resulted after a short period of time the creation of a booking agency parallel to the label. After a meeting with Gaetano, founder of the Imperanza Recordlabel, in summer 2010 the idea was born to combine both labels to one total concept which allows to present different musical facets.

Since then Spielstaub is more than one single recordlabel. Besides the internal labels Spielstaub, Imperanza and Housestaub it was time to devote to external labels. From 2011 on Spielstaub organizes the relaunch of the famous Pig & Dan-label Submission, which will start a new era of Pig & Dan with the new name Balushi .

Also the young project and label Klangekstase is supported by the know-how of Spielstaub.

Last but not least we offer every producer and label our studio experience with professional mastering.

    • After our massive debut with Pig & Dan's "I Do not Know Pressure EP", we are now shooting out the "Sultan of the dance Cafe" by congenial Holger Flinsch as a second Spielstaub release on the dance floors of the nation.

    "Sultans on Wind" takes off with pulsating rhythms, hypnotic melodies and shimmering effects taking you on a euphoric journey into the sky. It's the perfect soundtrack for the summer.

    "A Sunday in the Dance Cafe" is an energetic Tech-Disco-Burner with crispy fragments, discolike synthesizers and perfectly placed sound effects. It's your own fault if you are not dancing to this one...

    For our debut release, we are excited to welcome Cocoon legends Pig & Dan with their 'I Don't Know Pressure' EP. Two powerful main room cuts. The first of which, 'Pressure', takes us on a melodic trip. Whereas title track 'I Don't Know', shows a darker, intergalactic side.

    On the remixes, label chief Carsten Schorr steps up to deliver his take on 'Pressure'. Stripping back the original, he adds a heavy dose of electronic funk. Perfect for the techier floors.

    Rounding out the package is the remix from Imperanza Recordings boss, Gaetano. He drops the tempo, yet manages to keep the intensity of the original production.

    Achtung, warning,Balushi is out with two new Techno bombs for the summer.On the A side let me be myself is a deep aquatic adventure with a huge basline chugging along. There are some deep dark underwater effects and vocal snippets which develop into a deep stabby groove that hypnotizes anyone listening to the track.There is then a break with a beautiful vocal derived from the snippets that refreshes the listener and takes them into another dimension before bringing them back into the heavy hipnotic groove.

    On the AA side we have the path one hell of a tecno crossover designed to electrify and rock summer crowds all globally...With a funky meaty bassline that rolls on and perfectly complements both Rasta vocals and crazy electronic synths and squelches The Path is a fat groove to look out for on the hottest dancefloors...

    Pig&Dan - Hooked EP(Cat.Nr. Balushi002)

    • "Love song" holds a deep Pig&Dan imprint in its soul. The two musical madmen went all out for this debut single on their new label "Balushi". It's beats morph slowly into the euphoric break of lush synths which cradle you and make you feel as if this is symphonic. Then as the beats organically start to grow you realize it's all going to hit home and with no messing. "Love songs" dynamics are what makes it a top peak time killer that is already being thrashed by the big boys.

    "Prism" intros with a sweet bleepy lick that instantly catches your interest. The bleeps are followed by a very skippy funky flowing backbone of percussive elements and a serious rolling bassline that keep you on your toes. Once again the boys show their ability to involve different shades of sound in this little gem and make sure the girls are also happy on the dancefloor.

    Rattlesnake says it all in the title. A nice slippy number with a hell of a bite to boot. It's hypnotic riffs evolve throughout leaving a feeling of good old school vibes mixed with updated minimal twists. All in all the icing on the cake for the first of many singles to come on Balushi from Pig&Dan.

    DJ-wise, his trade relies on housey & funky techno or what he describes as 'techno combining the hard and funky edges of the groovy minimal'. Travelling and speading his tricky sound around the globe, from Yellow (Tokyo) to Zoo and Pacha (Ibiza) he becomes a milestone of the international techno circuit.

    Justin’s live sets have taken him all over the globe from the most intimate of clubs to the largest of festivals. He’s not only worked dancefloors but has created experimental electronica (Charm Hostel) and produced a Peel Session for the late John Peel.

    Creating original and often challenging music is Berkovi’s mantra - he now returns to production after a break with his tough live set as well as deeper productions under the ‘Nightrax’ monicker. Watch for new remixes and release in 2011!

    Goldfish und Der Dulz

    The muscial direction of Goldfish & Der Dulz was clear from the beginning: a minimalistic, funky electro music with a subtly woven melody. Who would like to book them has to make a hard decision. They perform as thrilling live acts or as floor-filling DJ's.

    In the summer of 2000 during a party at the Bremen freight station Maurice Dulz and Jörg Fischer took fancy to each other and especially to their musical preferences. Soon there was been planned a joint project that is growing up to today: Goldfish & Der Dulz. Maurice Dulz brings his decades of experience as a DJ and Jörg his knowledge about how to elicit flashing equipment the right sounds. In fact, Maurice is a minimal-DJ of the first hour who preferred already driving click and clack sound as the techno world still was dressed in tent trousers. Jörg worked already as a talented child at the age of 10 on every instrument.

    Gaetano

    Gaetano is no longer unknwon in the electronic music scene. Since over 3 years, he produced tracks for several imprints like his own label imperanza recordings, which have a clear statement and identification. In the age of 15 he already owned a small, well-equipped home studio. All his energy flowed into it.

    Gaetano developed his style with passion and faith and his own touch. In 2008 he founded his new label project Imperanza Recordings. Aim of this imprint is to unite warm emotional techno with kicking groovy beats. His releases are played by many TopDjs worldwide. Gaetano's roots lie in the techno end of the 90s, so his DJ sets have a lot of power and energy to rock a whole club night. Evosonic radio was very inspiring for Gaetano. " Music has its own mystique for me, it must hypnotize me, let's me forget everything around me. Electronic music is a life style. It has all the power to tell you stories and give you emotions. My music is my soul in which all my energy is based. " Gaetano follows his aims with precision and passion. 2009 he started his own event series called "Imperanza Nights" with national and international acts.

    Carsten Schorr

    Carsten experimented with different sounds and synths but was not inspired to make music on his own until he heard the first „HR Clubnight“ radio show in1990 mixed by Sven Vaeth.

    Soon Carsten visited the club „Omen“ to see his favourite DJ in full color and live in action. But he had to wait until 1999 as he again saw Sven Djing at the MTW Night as the electronic music changed his life.

    He also was interested in the whole music business, so he made this business to the center of his life, doing his work experience at „Cocoon“ whilest his study. Being in touch with his idol Vaeth he began a DJ career on his own on and soon was chosen together with Dominik Eulberg as on of the newcomers of the year 2004 in the most popular Techno Magazin "Groove".

    Placed in this top ten he began to rock the clubs, Djing with people like Richie Hawtin, Dominik Eulberg, Tiefschwarz, Ricardo Villalobos, Anthony Rother, Karotte and besides many more of course Sven Vaeth.

    In 2007 he released his first Mix CD "Minimal Techno" and 2008 this Mix CD was one of the most popular Compilations in the Techno business and Carsten had bookings in every famous Clubs in Germany and all over Europe.

    2010 he started his new Project: the Label and Booking Agency “Spielstaub” that Carsten makes together with Michael Heise. In january 2011 Spielstaub will keep on growing and will take with Markus Gaetano another partner on board. Furthermore the new label Balushi will be started together with Pig&Dan. Also for the producing part 2011 will be a promising year. In addition to a variety of remixes for well-known labels there are also planned many releases with producing partner Mark Gaetano, who will be bookable together with Carsten Schorr as a live-act. We are excited to see how it goes on.

    youANDme

    youANDme is a project of Martin Mueller and Daniel Stroeter and both live in Berlin / Germany. They work as DJs and producers since 1995. Both love the deeper side of music with many funk and soul, but every time raw and kicking. The structure of a youANDme set is very different; they like to play several styles in one set like house, techno, dub or electronica. And they love records that have their own structure and character, because both hate it to mix boring tools for several hours. Thats why they always search for new and innovative stuff.

    They have published their tracks and mixes at labels like Rotary Cocktail Recordings, Ornaments, Cocoon, Dekadent Schallplatten, Compost, Platzhirsch, 2020Vision, Snork, and many others A next step was the establishment of an own label and therefore youANDme created ROTARY COCKTAIL REC, POLYMORPH and 2 mysterious secret labels.

    2009 was a successfull year because youANDme published some nice records and one highlight was the licencing of Mark Broom vs. Brothers Vibe: "Mind/Feeling" (youANDme Edit) to Sven Väth his "The Sound Of The 10th Season" live mix at Amnesia DVD (Cocoon Mix 027).

    Gabriel le Mar

    Gabriel Le Mar is a veteran in electronic music with more than 20 album productions. Synonymously his name stands for a decade of experimental Electronica and DubTechno and consequently pushing tracks for intense nights on the floor. In this process the productive artist likes to integrate himself in different artistic constellations with project pseudonyms such as Subsonic Park (with Alex Azary) and Aural Float (Alex Azary, Pascal FEOS and Gabriel Le Mar)

    Next to his music projects Gabriel also works with Aural Float on audiovisual concepts: as a team they did the musical supervision for SPACENIGHT, a prototype of an integral TV-concept, utilizing spectacular film- and documentary footage from outer space with music made on earth. SPACENIGHT became a landmark success on german television and was highly acclaimed by the young watchers.

    Gabriel Le Mar`s Alben DUBWISE und WIZE DUBS

    On his album "Dubwize" on Thinner Gabriel Le Mar offers new tracks which are tailored for the dub inspired clubber, combining different playful approaches of Dub with the functionality and stringency of techhouse music.

    "Wize Dubs" is a collection of tracks of the "Dubwize" album. This remix album reflects on the story of Dubwize from different angles, as for each tune the original songs are deconstructed and thus mixed differently by friends like Marko Fürstenberg, Max Cavalerra, Echonomist, Subsonic Park, P. Laoss, Motionfield, das Kraftfuttermischwerk... Overall the collection spans a wide range of moody remixes, from abstract excursions over functional floorkeepers and detached sentiences.

    SUBSONIC PARK

    SUBSONIC PARK having initiated and influenced a variety of electronic genres and projects with their renowned label Elektrolux, Gabriel Le Mar and Alex Azary now reinvented themselves and return with even more groove and club sounds as their new outfit Subsonic Park, expressed by launching a new label id, Elux. Still presenting audio and visuals, the focus now is clearly on the floor and on more functional grooves and sounds. With their dj gigs and live shows Subsonic Park are melting the most advanced tracks between dubtech, tech- house and deeptechno.

    2010 Subsonic Park will increasingly appear in clubs and festivals like CocoonClub and on their own areas at Merkwuerdiges Verhalten and TimeWarp.

    Subsonic Park new albums ECHOES FROM INSIDE and INNER CITY CODES on Elux Records

    Subsonic Park’s first and still more experimental album "Inner City Codes", which was released last summer, gave a preview on Subsonic Park’s vision of their music, combining dub tech sounds and atmospheres with Detroitish harmonies, but still for the headphone.     Aural Float

    In the beginning Aural Float hosted the legendary Sunday Chill Sessions in the Frankfurt club XS, Germany´s first ambient club where they already worked with visuals quite intensively. From this germ cell, the Aural Float story did not only lead to their revelled debut album 'Introspectives' in 1995, but to the founding of the exclusive label platform Elektrolux as well.

    In 1996, the team took over the creative direction of SPACENIGHT. As a proto type of a holistic TV concept with spectacular images and visionary sound spheres, it received international attention. The concept of this groundbreaking project was to combine original NASA/ESA film- and video- and documentary footage from outer space with music made on earth. Until today, SPACENIGHT is a synonym for chillout and with it`s futuristic visuals soon reached cult status among the young night watchers. Four years later, another outstanding platform for video artists and chillout producers was created by the Aural Float masterminds: FLOWMOTION on the hr tv-channel. During the next five years, about 400 videos were produced especially for FLOWMOTION.

    In 2001, the second Aural Float album, 'Freefloat', was released – a kind of musical résumé of the SPACE NIGHT and FLOWMOTION activities. In 2005, the musical focus continuously shifted towards modern and perfectly produced electronic pop by the third album „Beautiful Someday" and the DVD "Moving Images" without breaking up with the ambient roots.

    PertHil and Aerts

    Close to fifty gigs in 2010 have made PertHil & Aerts one of the most popular acts in electronic music in the eastern part of Germany. After 2008 and 2009 they have played in 2010 for the third time at the SonneMondSterne Festival – together with such great artists like Underworld, Faithless or Richie Hawtin. Appearances in Berlin (M-Bia & Schoenwetter) proof their standing in contemporary electronic club music. With a performance at the Butanclub in Wuppertal at the 10th of September 2010 they have entered the western part of Germany as well – and “Raveline”, the biggest magazine for electronic music in Germany, reported about it!

    But also “in studio” PertHil & Aerts are not lazy. At the 4th of October 2010 they have released their first international release “PomPom” (incl. DJ EMERSON Remix) on the Italian Label Capsula, hosted by Sasha Carassi. One Month later, at the 5th of November 2010, “Amora” was released on the German label Society 3.0 Recordings, accompanied by a remix by DOUGLAS GREED (Freude am Tanzen). After a remix for "Potholer" by Blaues Licht on Spielstaub in May 2011 the "Simplex Virus E.P.” - together with Masuki aka Markus Suckut - came out on Ready 2 Rock, a sublabel of Frequenza by Nihil Young. Soon to come: "1492" including AXEL BARTSCH Remix!

    Blaues Licht

    Blaues Licht is a joint project of the two DJ's and Producers Edwood and Spieljunge. For over ten years they produce their own tracks and work as DJ's.

    In their early days they played many gigs together in different clubs and at big events. Later both went through different musical developments and played some years seperately at various events in central Germany.
    To date, the two music freaks are residents at the Strezzkidz / Spielstaub team and play regularly at different events in the Harz region and other German locations. Besides their productions they also do the design work for various synth sound sets. Two crazy workaholics with charm - Blaues Licht lights not only blue, it makes you happy!

    Blood and Tears

    Marco Danneberg aka Blood & Tears drew first attention with the "Radium EP" on KarateKlub Records, which together with the remix by Brian Sanhaji entered the playlists and charts of f.e. Pascal FEOS, Chris Liebing, Xavier Morell, Lars Klein or Dominik Eulberg. The short time later released "Run With The Bullit EP" with a remix by Perc was very successful as well. More Remixes for f.e. Oscar (KarateKlub), Terje Bakke (Lordag), Danjel Esperanza (Meleon & Spielmann-Musik) and Björn Stolpmann (Kol Mojito) followed as well as more releases on KarateKlub, Lordag and Heiland, a label especially founded for the release of the "Blood on the cross" Bootleg.

    Blood & Tears was no longer only a studio project but became also Marco's DJ-name. The sound was indeed minimal and scratched just below the 130 bpm mark, but was still doing very technoid. Dark, impulsive, loud and above all danceable.

    Rudi Carell Gott aka Tom became relatively early enthusiastic for the non-public music scene. Classical training on violin and basic knowledge at the piano built the foundation for his later career.

    When he discovered his preference for electronic music at the end of the 90's, mainly by the great Warp Recordlabel, it was clear to him that it is time to take the things in his own hands. He developed his own style and had his first gigs already in 2002 at different locations. Unlike most other musicians Tom first produced music before playing at partys. Therefore there are only a few DJ-sets from RudiCarellGott. Who wants to enjoy his music should experience this live-act with his countless self-made productions directly at party. His works feature a wide artistic spectrum, for example setting of videoclips and shortmovies, the design of radio productions or the creation of music for exhibition openings, art events and performances (IBA, readings, etc.). The productions can be found under different pseudonyms which also reflect the variety of his artistic work.
    In 2009 his first EP found its way to the record shops. The melodic techno sound features an extraordinary sound aesthetic. Minimal music is interpreted in a new, extravagant way.
